In 2005 I was delighted to be invited to Clarence House for a meeting that ended with me securing the commission to make the wedding cake of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and Mrs Camilla Parker Bowles, as well as 2,500 slices given to the guests inside commemorative tins, to mark this very special day in our history A full size replica is on show at Sophisticake. In 2006 I felt honoured to be asked to make a spray of sugar flowers for Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of her 80th birthday. The spray consisted of delicate ivory sugar roses, blossoms, and eucalyptus. . In 2007 I was proud to be asked to make HRH The Duchess of Cornwalls’ 60th birthday cake, vanilla sponge, chocolate and of course fruit cake made up eleven ‘presents’ all wrapped up with beautiful sugar ribbons and finished with stunning handmade sugar Duchess of Cornwall Roses. My most recent commission was a stunning pure white cake for the christening of The Duchess of Cornwall’s two granddaughters. The cake consisted of 4 different sized “ Present boxes “ wrapped up with beautiful pearlised sugar ribbons. A handmade sugar rag doll lay at the front with a teddy, a pair of baby shoes & a baby’s rattle all of course made in sugar.
