Sophisticake was opened in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire in 2003 & has been running successfully for over 17 years. My name is Dawn & my love and passion for this creative art form started over 30 years ago & for over 25 of those I've been teaching, alongside baking & decorating cakes.
I now pass on my experience & knowledge of this fascinating subject tutoring at my shop.

It’s a fabulous feeling when you’ve made and decorated a cake for your child’s party, or made a celebration cake for a friend or family member. I give individual tuition at Sophisticake so you can have a little time for yourself and learn something different & a life skill that’s very calming & therapeutic.
Individual tuition is very flexible as it works between your diary & mine and is very affordable.
Only £30 per person per hour(min 2 hours)

In 2005 I was delighted to be invited to Clarence House for a meeting that ended with me securing the commission to make the wedding cake of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and Mrs Camilla Parker Bowles, as well as 2,500 slices given to the guests inside commemorative tins marking this very special day in our history. A full size replica is on show at Sophisticake.
I undertake several talks throughout the year for various organisations. They are very entertaining, & funny as well as being informative.
Please contact me if you would like to have an accomplished speaker give an informed, interesting & funny talk about all the cakes I have made for the Royals, including the wedding cake of HRH the Prince of Wales & the Duchess of Cornwall & some of the other cakes I’ve made like a 4’ 6” replica of St Brides Steeple in London, for your organisation or event or perhaps a workshop or demonstration would suit better.
